Revised February, 2015 The Canadian Amputee Golf Association (CAGA) requires all participants to adhere to a Code of Conduct during tournaments, championships and events All events will be held in accordance with the Rules of Golf as established by the R & A Rules Limited, the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) and the Modification of the Rules of Golf for Golfers with Disabilities. The purpose of this Code is to identify expectations and clarify actions that are considered violations and thereby assist participants in understanding the consequences of their actions. These standards apply to the competitor and their caddie when they are on any golf course property for a practice round or competition, participating in Tournaments, Championships and Events, that have been sanctioned by CAGA. Respect for players, club staff and members, employees, spectators and officials, is expected to be demonstrated by exhibiting decorum, consistent with the expectations of CAGA. Actions that are violations include abusive language, abuse of the golf course or golf property, knowingly violating rules, club throwing, vandalism, bad temperament, physical fighting, disrespect of fellow competitors, spectators, volunteers, officials, and other conduct that is considered detrimental to the best interests of the game of golf or CAGA. Use of illicit drugs is prohibited at any CAGA sanctioned event. Tests may take place. Use of alcohol by a competitor or caddie during a stipulated round is prohibited. Tests may take place. Juniors are prohibited from using tobacco products or alcohol on golf course property during a CAGA sanctioned event. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to alter starting times if deemed necessary It is the player’s responsibility to be punctual for Start times (minimum 10 minutes), event meetings, interviews that you have accepted for meetings with organizing officials, etc. The use of motorised carts is permitted for all competitors. Mobile telephones may neither be switched on, nor used on the course during tournament play, except in case of a medical emergency or for matters of personal safety. Practicing or hitting golf balls on any public area other than property specifically intended for the practice or play of golf, is prohibited. All players must attend mandatory player meetings as outlined in the tournament’s Schedule of Events. Players are responsible for familiarising themselves with the Conditions of the competition, Local Rules, and any Additional Local Rules as posted on the Tournament bulletin board both at the golf venue and host hotel. If a violation occurs prior to, or during the event, the individual must immediately comply with the Code. This must be done without undue delay and then the Code must be maintained. First offense – warning or disqualification. Second offense - disqualification. All caddies must be registered with the Starter. Spectators and friends must not converse, offer advice, signal or interfere with the play of any competitor. The Referees and Marshals will monitor the pace of play in accordance with the “Pace of Play Rules. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to suspend play and/or cancel a round in case of potentially dangerous weather conditions. Players must familiarise themselves with the signals in use for suspension of play. The Disciplinary Committee shall consist of the Chairman of the Organising Committee, the Club Pro and a RCGA Rules Marshall. Discipline during an event will be handled by the event Tournament Committee. Code of Conduct violations will be referred to the Discipline Committee. In the event that the Committee determines a suspension is warranted, the competitor will be advised of the suspension in writing and of their right to appeal. The sections on Conduct and General Rules above will be strictly enforced by the Organizing Committee with a zero tolerance attitude.
